The mission of the Residential Mortgage Learning Institute (RMLI) is to address the issues of homeownership that families encounter through three distinct programs: (1) the Road to Home Ownership that targets low income families who are transitioning from renting to home ownership; (2) the RMLI Community Education Program which offers free workshop to the community and (3) the Education and Training Opportunities Program which is designed to meet the training needs of those who work in the mortgage industry.
Residential Mortgage Corporation is an African American owned mortgage company that has nonprofit subsidiary, the Residential Mortgage Learning Institute (RMLI). There area three major programs under RMLI: 1) the Education and Training Opportunities Program is designed to offer training to those who are new to mortgage financing, while providing continuing education for the more experienced loan officer; (2) the RMLI Community Education Program allows us to conduct free workshop for community members from churches and area schools that address the general aspects of home ownership and (3) the Road to Home Ownership Program which affords low and moderate income families an opportunities to repair their credit, learn budgeting and other life skills that lead to owning a home.
Our Road to Home Ownership Program includes the following components: Purchasing Your First Home: the 411 on Credit (Everything You Need to Know About Credit, but Were Afraid to Ask); Financial Fitness for Home Ownership and the Road to Closing Day.
